Dog Boarding & Daycare
Here at Station Cottage we adore dogs and understand how important it is for them to be safe and cared for. We offer both Dog Daycare and Home Boarding and we take pride in ensuring all of our furry customers have the best time here with us. They'll get lots of love and attention, experienced supervision and a good mix of rest and play.
Our establishment is fully Licensed by North Kesteven District Council and insured by Protectivity Insurance.
Home Boarding Rate: £22 per dog/per 24hr stay
We are happy to arrange drop off and collection times that suit your needs.
To secure your booking a 50% non refundable deposit for boarding is required and full payment made on or before the day of drop off.
Note: Failure to collect your dog on the agreed date will result in an additional charge of £27.50 per dog/per day.
In our eyes home boarding is the only way to board a dog. Home boarding is a home away from home / holiday for your dog(s) where they will become an honorary member of our family for the period of their stay and even after they leave.
Your dog(s) will get walks daily and have a chance to socialise and play with other dogs, so if you're going on holiday and you don’t like the idea of kennels, then we're the perfect choice for you. At our fully licensed and insured home boarding establishment your dog(s) will enjoy all the usual comforts of home in a safe and caring environment. We will also post lots of pictures and updates of how they are doing, meaning you can enjoy your holiday without worrying about them.
Daycare Rates: £16 per dog for up to a 10hr day.
We offer our customers the opportunity to leave their dogs with us for the day, as a one-off or on a regular basis. Whether it's because of long working hours, not having time to give your dog the full exercise they require, wanting the freedom to go out for the day shopping and not having to rush back at lunchtime because your dog is anxious and destructive, or just because your dog hates to be alone, we can give you peace of mind knowing your dog will be fully looked after, exercised and loved whilst they're with us.
Our job is to ensure that the dogs in our care have the right mix of exercise, rest, stimulation, fun, games, socialisation, cuddles, treats and love. Therefore we are constantly supervising and organising activities throughout the day suitable for all dogs, adjusting the play and levels of exercise depending on the size, age and nature of each individual.
Most of the fun comes from just being with other dogs, chasing each other and sniffing about, but we also have a paddling pool, balls and lots of other toys to stimulate interest and keep their brains as well as their bodies active.
Our general opening hours are 8am to 6.30pm, however to make it easy to drop off / collect your dogs before and after work we are happy to be flexible with these times by arrangement.
We also take photographs and videos each day, uploading them to our social media pages meaning you can see just how much fun your dog is having, and who they are playing with that day! You can find our Facebook, and Instagram pages by clicking the links.
The dogs that stay and play with us get to enjoy a stress free time whilst meeting lots of new friends and enjoying lots of exercise, enrichment and stimulation to ensure happy dogs and a enjoyable visit for all.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my dog need to have vaccinations? Yes! We want to ensure all our visitors stay healthy and happy, so we do request that all dogs are fully vaccinated (including Kennel Cough). The Primary Course of vaccination must be completed at least 2 weeks before the first date of boarding.
Do you accept puppies? Sadly no. We are unable to accept dogs under 12 months of age.
What happens if my dog becomes ill? Boarders: If possible we will take your dog to its own vet. If this is not possible for any reason we will take them to the our veterinary surgery (Orchard House in Metheringham). Any vet bills will be the owners responsibility. All vet bills will be paid by us initially and you will need to reimburse us on your return. Daycare: We will call you to come and collect your dog.
What do I need to bring for Boarding? Please bring your dog's vet book, bed, food, lead and any favourite toys and treats.
What if my dog is on medication? Not a problem at all. Just make sure you bring enough of the medication to last for the stay and I have a Medication Form to ensure that your dog will get his/her medication at the right time.
Do you accept all dogs? Sadly no, we cannot accept dogs that have shown aggression towards people or other animals, or any dog registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. We will consider accepting unneautured dogs upon prior arrangement, thought we cannot accept any bitches in season.
Will my dog be walked? Boarders: Most definitely! The dogs are walked as per your instructions. Daycare: No, but they will get lots of exercise.
What if my dog has never been to Station Cottage before? Don’t worry we do a 'Meet & Greet' prior to taking any booking. Whether it be for Boarding or Daycare we would like to meet you and your animals first so we can get to know you and you us. Then we'd suggest a short taster session with us of 2-3hrs to see how your dog gets on.
Have we missed something? Please feel free to give us a call and if you have any other queries!
